Why we don't do pay-per-close or commission-only lead gen

By Travis Heurtelou · 4 min read · October 10, 2026

The short version

  • We don't do pay-per-close, commission-only, or a percentage of revenue.
  • Whether a lead closes depends on your price, your sales call and your follow-up. We control none of those.
  • We offer one flat monthly fee, with every qualified lead included.
  • A lead is defined in writing before anything sends.

What people ask for

'Bring us clients first and we'll pay you a cut.' 'We only pay when a deal closes.' 'Take 10% of whatever comes from it.' We get asked some version of this a lot, and the answer is always the same: we don't do pay-per-close.

Why not

Our part ends when a qualified buyer replies wanting to talk and the thread lands with you. What happens after that is your sales call, your price, your proposal and your follow-up. A good lead can fail to close for reasons that have nothing to do with how it was found: the rep didn't call back for a week, the quote came in high, the buyer's budget moved.

Pay-per-close asks us to carry the cost of the domains, the inboxes, the list and the writing for months, and then get paid only if every step we don't control goes well. It also makes us dependent on your reporting to know whether anything closed. That's not a deal we take.

What we do instead

  • One flat monthly fee, set on a call once we know your market and your offer.
  • Before anything sends, we agree in writing on what a lead is: the title, the company size, and what they said in the reply. Every lead that clears it is included, with the full thread.

The fee is held to the part we control: a buyer who fits your description and replied wanting to talk. Sends, opens and replies from people outside that description never count as leads.

No pay-per-close, no commission. One flat monthly fee, with the lead defined in writing first.

Questions

What if the leads are bad?

Then they don't meet the written definition and they don't count. Send a line on why and the screening gets corrected. That's why the definition comes first.

Do you guarantee meetings?

No. We count leads: a buyer who fits and replied wanting to talk. Booking and running the call is yours.

Is there a long contract?

No. Month to month.
